Girls Trip

 So the way Big B and I got to even thinking about our trip was because a few girl friends wanted to do a girls trip to London. I knew I couldn't leave Big B home while I went so we made it work out that he would leave and on the same day 2 girl friends would arrive. It worked out great! (I know I'm spoiled.) The same day that all happened we headed out for some sight seeing and tea.

 Then tea at the Ritz. It was so nice and there were some yummy food. So glad I experienced it but no matter how hard I try I just don't love tea.

 But the company was the best part.

After a long day we all zoned out with our devices.

Rosetta Stone & Les Mis

 On our long walking day we hit the British Museum to find the Rosetta Stone. It was pretty amazing and interesting to look at.

 Then we met up with our friends for a wonderful dinner. I mean wonderful. Big B and I still talk about that dinner. Then we got to see Les Miserables. It was such a great show! The whole night was fantastic!! A great way for Big B to end his trip.

 Oh yes...don't forget about the cupcakes we carried around all day long.

We had such an amazing time. The only regret is not doing more. We really loved every part of our trip and are so lucky to have been able to do it. One last picture of us with Big Ben. Good bye London! Hopefully we'll meet again.

Kensington Palace and Hyde Park

 After walking around Notting Hill and shopping we made our way to Kensington Palace. It was quite the walk and we got stuck in a down pour which turned into a hail storm.

 Luckily we were very close to the palace and were able to dry off. Our biggest problem was keeping our cupcakes safe.

 The palace had just opened after a big remodel and they had a Princess Diana exhibit. So we toured the palace and got to see some of the dresses that she wore.

 The palace is in Hyde Park so we walked through on our way to the next destination.

So big and so beautiful. I never got enough of all the old touches.

Shopping

 Of course we had to get some shopping in! Our hostess told us the perfect place to go and it was perfect. We found great souvenirs.

 Just walking around was fun with buildings like these.

 We couldn't miss the Hummingbird Bakery. We got yummy cupcakes for later that night and of course one for right then.

We ran across this store that was decorated with old sewing machines and we thought of A and her love of sewing. 

It was so creative and there were so many sewing machines!

London Eye & London Bridge

 The London Eye is this big ferris wheel like thing that takes so high that you can view London for miles and miles.

 We had so much rain on our trip that we were really lucky to have beautiful views.

 It was amazing!

 This is what we were in. We almost got our own but ended up sharing it with one other person. The one before us was a party with catering and all. 

 Here is a view of the London Bridge as we were crossing it. Once again I was blown away by the amazing construction and details.

Tower of London, part 2

 In one part of the tour, where you could take pictures, was all the weapons and armor that was used. This sword was the largest one we saw.

 They had replicas of all the kings horses.

 They also had all their swords.

 I thought this jousting stick was pretty cool cause I never knew how big they were.

 This is the largest and smallest armor made.

Then there was a room with weapons. Cannons and guns. 

It was very interesting to hear about all the people who lived there and the stories surrounding their lives. The jewels were amazing and we really enjoyed the whole thing. 

Tower of London, part 1

 Tower of London was one of our favorite things that we did. We spent 4 or so hours touring it and listening to every part of the audio tour.

 This is where the Crown Jewels are kept. Of course we couldn't take pictures, in fact someone did and security was all over him. I couldn't believe all the jewels and how big they were.

 They also had a changing of the guards. (It was better to watch.) The men that gave the tours and ran the place were called Yeomen Warders or Beefeaters. These men are the ones who look after the jewels and back in the day look after the prisoners. They actually live there with their families.

These were the biggest ravens I had ever seen and they are very well looked after. It is believed if the ravens ever die then the tower and monarchy will die also.
